
Senior Case Manager – Disaster Recovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee daily case management operations
• Manage, mentor, and guide Case Management Specialists and support staff
• Set priorities, allocate tasks, and ensure consistent service delivery
• Supervise housing assistance, Other Needs Assistance, and various FEMA Individual Assistance and CDBG-DR services
• Evaluate casework, documentation, reports, and system entries for precision, promptness, completeness, and compliance
• Assess workload, quality, productivity, and performance metrics; execute corrective measures and process enhancements
• Deliver training, technical support, feedback, and job coaching
• Tackle complex operational, policy, and programmatic challenges and facilitate resolutions
• Assist with eligibility determinations in federally declared disaster regions
• Relay updates on progress, staffing requirements, risks, issues, and resolutions to management
• Collaborate with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, nonprofit, and community organizations
• Monitor cases and team activities using project management information systems; compile operational reports and status updates
• Modify staffing and work plans in response to evolving deadlines, priorities, and disaster conditions
• Travel by air and ground to client, recovery, and ICF locations as necessary
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading, supervising, or providing daily direction to case management, survivor assistance, disaster operations, or similar teams
• Willingness and ability to travel by air and ground with little notice, including deployments to disaster-affected regions and extended assignments
• Availability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when activated
• Valid U.S. driver's license and capability to successfully pass an MVR check
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
• Ability to learn and utilize various case-management or database systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, case reviews, reporting, and timely completion of assigned tasks
• Strong organizational and workload management abilities
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Outstanding critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Capacity to lead calmly and professionally amid changing deadlines, priorities, and disaster operating conditions
• Skill in listening, facilitating, negotiating, and de-escalating concerns while upholding boundaries and confidentiality
• Understanding and appreciation of survivor circumstances, socioeconomic backgrounds, access and functional needs, and community dynamics
• Bachelor's degree in emergency management, disaster management, public administration, social services, business, or a related field (preferred)
• Preferred knowledge or experience with FEMA Individual Assistance, CDBG-DR, disaster operations, FEMA/state case-management systems, grant systems, reporting tools, applicant-assistance technology, training, coaching, quality reviews, and performance metrics
• FEMA training or certifications, including ICS, NIMS, NRF, and Individual Assistance coursework (preferred)
• Reservist On-Call employees have the option to accept or decline assignments
