Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and publish dashboards, metrics, and reports for both internal and external users.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to standardize data and metric definitions, while also suggesting new metrics and strategies.

• Produce analysis-ready datasets by merging internal and external data sources.

• Track data for anomalies and enhance the visibility of outages and system issues.

• Collaborate with data engineers to understand upstream data changes and refresh dependent BI solutions.

• Empower business users to utilize self-service through developed tools.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to enable scalable, automated reporting.

• Engage in peer reviews, quality assurance activities, and Agile ceremonies.

• Assist in the onboarding process for new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience with BI tools such as Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

• Experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Strong SQL expertise, including data modeling, query optimization, and stored procedures.

• Proficient in Python or R for data extraction, transformation, and visualization tasks.

• Demonstrated ability to convey narratives through data visualization.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with comfort in ambiguous situations.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

• Experience in Agile and dynamic work environments.

• Practical experience in creating datasets, dataflows, and dashboards in Domo.

• Familiarity with building integrations using SaaS APIs such as Salesforce.

• Production experience with dbt.

• Relevant certifications in BI tools (Domo, Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
