Power BI Developer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Migrate and revamp Domo dashboards, reports, datasets, and business logic within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

• Create scalable and reusable Power BI semantic models utilizing dimensional and star-schema modeling techniques.

• Develop calculations, measures, and time-intelligence logic through DAX programming.

• Establish and maintain data transformations using Power Query/M.

• Engage with Microsoft Fabric features, including OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Dataflows, pipelines, and semantic models.

• Enhance Power BI models, DAX, refresh processes, and reports for optimal performance.

• Implement data relationships, security measures, and Row-Level Security (RLS).

• Validate migrated reports against current Domo solutions to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

• Diagnose issues related to data, calculations, models, refresh processes, and reporting.

• Identify opportunities to simplify and enhance existing BI solutions during the migration process.

• Collaborate with BI team members and relevant stakeholders throughout the migration journey.

• Document technical designs, business logic, data lineage, and migration decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in Power BI development, Business Intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.

• Strong practical experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

• Solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric and its essential capabilities.

• High proficiency in DAX, encompassing filter context, time intelligence, and performance optimization.

• Strong skills in SQL and Power Query/M.

• Comprehensive understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, fact/dimension design, and semantic models.

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, refresh procedures, and data validation.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and translate existing business logic into efficient Power BI solutions.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Prior experience in BI platform migration.

• Experience with Domo, including Cards, Beast Mode, Magic ETL, and datasets.

• Experience with enterprise-level Power BI or Microsoft Fabric solutions.

• Understanding of Medallion architecture.

• Experience working with global or distributed teams.
