This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Evaluate the US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design objectives to identify operational gaps in relation to our tactical radio capabilities.
• Perform market analysis to discover comprehensive product solutions and collaborations with emerging industry partners, working alongside the Applications Engineering team to test and assess these complete architectures.
• Create and develop impactful, "art-of-the-possible" demonstrations designed to meet the specific operational needs of the Army, showcasing potential future tactical edge network innovations.
• Oversee the technical planning, network setup, and real-time execution of field trials, upgrades, and user assessments in collaboration with the BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Work with the Applications Engineering team to utilize continuous large-scale testing and competitive benchmarking data, ensuring that all proposed architectures are robust and defensible.
• Collaborate with the Business Development team to engage proactively with Army program managers, Science and Technology (S&T) leads, and warfare centers to incorporate advanced technology capabilities into future 3-to-5-year program specifications.
• Stay closely aligned with the Business Development team, establishing strategic priorities and providing support for their technical requirements.
• Act as the technical lead for the RFI/RFP response team, offering strategic technical guidance, defining detailed product capabilities, and conducting expert reviews to ensure proposal precision and alignment.
• Foster trusted-advisor relationships with Chief Engineers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and technical evaluators throughout the Army.
• Represent the internal voice of the soldier, converting complex Army field feedback and emerging requirements into actionable product roadmaps, and actively monitor engineering progress to ensure final deliverables meet the soldier's operational needs accurately.
• Undertake other related duties as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR technical field with at least 5 years of proven experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or forward-looking defense technology positions; OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience directly involving Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of US Army tactical procurement processes and the network modernization priorities set forth by the Army Futures Command.
• Expertise with radio frequency instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
• Readiness to travel frequently (50%) to client locations, DoD research laboratories, and strategic field-testing settings.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the capability to secure one within 15 months of hire. Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
