Senior Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the quality, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients

• Oversee accounts payable, transaction categorization, reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end closing, BAS/IAS/TPAR, and the fixed-asset register

• Address complex or ambiguous situations where AI agents are unable to provide a definitive solution

• Evaluate the work of AI agents and document errors, corrections, and modifications in an organized manner

• Recognize recurring issues among clients and communicate them to the Manager and product team

• Collaborate with the product team to test enhancements and help establish quality benchmarks

• Optimize Xero and other application settings along with client information workflows

• Act as the primary contact for clients' daily bookkeeping inquiries

• Clarify accounting concepts to business owners and finance leads

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of practical Australian bookkeeping experience

• Proficiency in multi-currency, inventory/COGS, and intricate reconciliations

• In-depth knowledge of BAS, IAS, TPAR, GST treatment, FBT data collection, and month-end closing procedures

• Advanced skills in Xero (Xero Advisor certified or equivalent)

• Strong capabilities in Dext

• Experience with Shopify, Deputy, payment gateways, and PSP/EFT integrations

• Eagerness to learn and a willingness to collaborate with AI agents as partners

• Competence in reviewing AI-generated work and offering constructive feedback

• Clear written communication skills, particularly in online, platform-based discussions

• Ability to communicate accounting principles to business owners who may not have a finance background

• Confidence in making decisions regarding ambiguous accounting issues and articulating the rationale

• Personal accountability for each client file

• Sound judgment on when to escalate issues or seek a second opinion

• Strong dedication to quality standards
