Senior Backend Software Engineer – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide technical guidance for the advancement of RD Station’s AI Agent Builder within the AI Alliance.

• Engage in hands-on Python backend development and lead discussions on architecture.

• Ensure the product is scalable, resilient, observable, and of high quality.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Consistently improve the functionalities of the AI Agent Builder.

• Create scalable, resilient, and observable backend solutions.

• Direct solution design and make technical decisions that adhere to engineering standards.

• Coordinate efforts between backend and frontend teams, anticipating dependencies and resolving obstacles.

• Enhance the technical proficiency of the team through code reviews, constructive feedback, and knowledge sharing.

• Oversee observability, performance, incidents, and technical debt.

• Ensure roadmap predictability by balancing speed, quality, and sustainability.

• Utilize AI tools, such as Cursor, while ensuring accountability for quality, security, and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in Python backend development, focusing on building and evolving highly complex applications and services.

• Proven experience with software architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and service-to-service integrations.

• Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, automated testing, and code quality.

• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases and asynchronous or event-driven processing.

• Experience with cloud environments, CI/CD processes, and observability practices.

• Background serving as a technical reference, guiding engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.

• Ability to assess trade-offs among scalability, performance, security, delivery timelines, and business impact.

• Capability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership to both backend and frontend teams.

• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools.

• Demonstrated ownership, effective communication, pragmatism, and a curiosity to learn.

• Nice to have: experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or AI agents; agent architectures; MCP; LLMOps; React; TypeScript; GCP; Docker; Kafka; Pub/Sub; PostgreSQL; MongoDB; Datadog.
