Senior Backend Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance backend services, APIs, and orchestration workflows within a cloud environment.

• Upgrade current services and facilitate the transition from Flask to FastAPI.

• Assist in creating a scalable, decoupled architecture leveraging Azure.

• Take ownership of API specifications across various integrations.

• Advance the multi-run orchestration flow from API requests to multirun processing and Optim-core integration.

• Shift orchestration workloads towards queue-based workers operating on Azure Container Apps.

• Design and create run lifecycle APIs, article swap endpoints, and mechanisms for results persistence.

• Construct and manage backend services using Python, FastAPI, and Flask.

• Establish and uphold CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability practices.

• Tackle technical challenges concerning service reliability, integration, and distributed processing.

• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver robust and maintainable backend solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend software development using Python.

• Practical experience with FastAPI and Flask, including API development and framework migration.

• Proficiency in designing, documenting, and maintaining API specifications.

• Strong understanding of API architecture, service integration, and asynchronous processing.

• Experience with Azure and the deployment of cloud-based applications.

• Familiarity with queue-based architectures, background workers, and distributed systems.

• Proven experience in implementing automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability for production services.

• Understanding of data persistence, API lifecycle management, and reliable service communication.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the capability to make informed technical decisions.

• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

• Nice to have: Experience with Azure Container Apps and containerized workloads.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning Studio (AMLS) and its integration with backend services.

• Nice to have: Experience in decoupling services and transitioning from tightly coupled architectures to asynchronous, queue-based processing.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of monitoring, logging, tracing, and troubleshooting in production environments.
