Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and construct the backend for AI security products using Node.js and TypeScript across various cloud environments and endpoints.

• Take full ownership of features from initial business requirements to architecture, implementation, delivery, and ensuring production-quality standards.

• Collaborate closely with Product teams and engage directly with customers to transform rapidly evolving business needs into reliable technical solutions.

• Work in partnership with Product, Design, and other engineering teams on intricate cross-company initiatives.

• Make and justify architectural choices in a dynamic and rapidly evolving domain.

• Establish the technical standards for a senior team through code reviews, design discussions, and practical examples.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of hands-on experience in backend development.

• Strong, production-level proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (essential).

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement solutions for complex, distributed systems.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability, demonstrating high independence and the capability to manage multiple stakeholders.

• Proven experience in taking features from requirements to production with production-quality code.

• Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change, along with the discernment to know when to act quickly and when to invest in long-term solutions.

• Excellent English skills with strong communication abilities within a fully distributed team.

• Early adopter of AI technologies, with a passion for leveraging AI to enhance developer experience and system performance.

• Experience with microservices architecture (preferred).

• Background in cybersecurity or endpoint agent development (preferred).

• Experience in delivering customer-value-driven products in fast-paced startup environments (preferred).

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, or AI-enhanced product features (preferred).
