Senior Back-End Engineer, Java, AI-Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create bug fixes, enhancements, and new functionalities for the WMS product.

• Offer production support by examining incidents, diagnosing intricate issues, conducting root cause analysis, and applying dependable fixes.

• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools, such as Claude and MCP integrations, to scrutinize the codebase, investigate production challenges, develop solutions, and enhance test coverage.

• Assess AI-generated code and technical conclusions, ensuring that solutions are accurate, secure, maintainable, and suitable for production use.

• Conduct code reviews and help uphold high standards for code quality and engineering practices.

• Collaborate with a Scrum team throughout the delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, and deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of commercial software development experience, primarily focused on Java.

• In-depth understanding of OOP, design patterns, clean code, and software engineering principles.

• Extensive experience with Java EE, Spring 5 (Core, MVC, Security), and Spring Boot 2.

• Proficient SQL skills with a solid grasp of relational database concepts.

• Experience in designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting REST APIs.

• Strong skills in debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, particularly in production environments.

• Significant experience with AIDLC (AI-Driven Lifecycle) and an agentic programming mindset.

• Capability to effectively leverage AI for codebase analysis, implementation, debugging, production issue investigation, and automated test generation.

• Proficient in unit testing with JUnit, Mockito, and related testing methodologies.

• Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with application servers like IBM WebSphere.

• Competence in Unix/Linux environments and Bash scripting.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Upper intermediate proficiency in English.

• Nice to have: Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, logistics, fulfillment, or other supply chain domains.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with IBM Db2 and/or Oracle Database.

• Nice to have: Experience with Docker and containerized environments.

• Nice to have: Experience with C++.

• Nice to have: Experience supporting large-scale or legacy enterprise applications.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with MCP-based AI tooling and integrations.
