Senior AWS Cloud – DevOps Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Assist the client's CRM and data teams with cloud initiatives for the Fast Track to the Future program.

• Create and develop integrations between Salesforce and AWS-hosted systems utilizing synchronous APIs, Amazon EventBridge, and Amazon S3 batch processes.

• Leverage AWS services to implement features not presently available in Salesforce.

• Ensure integrations are secure, dependable, and maintainable, incorporating error handling, retries, and replay mechanisms.

• Enhance GitLab CI/CD by transitioning from GitFlow to trunk-based deployment and propagation.

• Strengthen repository security scanning using Snyk.

• Establish and refine observability across AWS and Salesforce, including tracing, dashboards, and alert notifications.

• Primarily build observability with Amazon CloudWatch while evaluating external tools.

• Configure GCP accounts, permissions, and foundational infrastructure for Google Analytics and BigQuery.

• Suggest solution architecture, followed by the construction, testing, and implementation of solutions.

• Clearly articulate and justify designs to cloud engineers, CRM stakeholders, and business stakeholders.

• Collaborate with the client’s existing cloud and CRM teams.

• Engage in client-facing consulting activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on AWS cloud / DevOps engineering experience at a senior level.

• Demonstrated experience in building AWS integrations utilizing APIs, Amazon EventBridge, and file-based batch processes on Amazon S3.

• Strong proficiency in GitLab CI/CD, including trunk-based development and deployment/promotion patterns.

• Practical experience with observability tools involving tracing, dashboards, and alert notifications using Amazon CloudWatch.

• Capability to propose solution architecture and effectively communicate and justify it to engineers and business stakeholders.

• Self-motivated and driven, possessing excellent communication skills.

• Experience with Google Cloud, covering projects, IAM, basic infrastructure, and BigQuery (preferred).

• Experience with Salesforce integration (preferred).

• Familiarity with Snyk or similar SCA / SAST tools in CI/CD pipelines (preferred).

• Knowledge of AWS X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, or external observability tools like Datadog or Grafana (preferred).

• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation (preferred).

• Relevant AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer (preferred).

• Experience in large multi-country or multi-brand platform consolidation projects (preferred).

• Matriculation or equivalent qualification.

• Legal authorization to work in South Africa without employer sponsorship.
