Senior Associate, Operational Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments alongside first-line business and engineering stakeholders

• Consistently evaluate risks utilizing Paxos’s severity and likelihood framework

• Manage the enterprise-level process, risk, and control inventory as well as the firm's risk and control inventories

• Supervise the execution of an issues management program

• Identify control deficiencies, document responsible parties and remediation timelines, and monitor issues until resolution

• Evaluate operational risk associated with new products, vendors, blockchains, and regulatory changes prior to production

• Gather documentation for internal and external audits, as well as regulatory examinations

• Address requests from examiners

• Develop and conduct independent monitoring and testing for key controls

• Communicate risk patterns and key risk indicators to senior management and risk committees

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in operational risk within a financial services institution, a regulatory body, consultancy, or a company that has established or enforced operational risk standards

• Practical experience in executing Risk and Control Self-Assessments

• Proficiency in maintaining a risk register and evaluating risks using a specified severity and likelihood framework

• Familiarity with OCC expectations, Basel operational risk principles, SOC 2, and guidelines concerning third-party risk

• Experience in preparing evidence for audits and regulatory examinations and addressing examiner inquiries directly

• Strong and clear writing skills

• Proven ability to facilitate agreement on ratings and remediation strategies among business and engineering owners

• Comfortable utilizing AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis

• Experience in developing independent monitoring and testing programs, managing process/risk/control inventories, or working in blockchain or cryptocurrency is a plus
