Senior Associate, Long Term Disability Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Independently manage a portfolio of intricate Long-Term Disability claims in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

• Conduct both initial and ongoing interviews with claimants.

• Acquire and analyze medical records.

• Make timely and ethical decisions regarding claim determinations.

• Review and manage the most complex claims, including those with intricate diagnoses or other factors necessitating in-depth investigation.

• Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals via phone and email to gather pertinent information regarding Long-Term Disability claims and relevant state and federal benefits.

• Collaborate with case managers, nurse case managers, vocational case managers, and consulting physicians.

• Assess complex medical records and utilize tools and resources to determine approval durations and future planning actions.

• Deliver outstanding customer service while proactively identifying customer needs and opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a High School diploma or GED, or at least an Associate degree in lieu of required experience.

• Have 3-5 years of experience in Long Term Disability claims, regardless of degree.

• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrate excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Experience in disability and/or absence management is desirable but not mandatory.

• Must live outside a commutable distance from an office location due to the remote work arrangement.
