This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Assess professional, high-value, and outpatient/inpatient institutional claims
β’ Evaluate coverage and determine payment levels
β’ Review and resolve provider disputes and appeals
β’ Generate resolution letters
β’ Timely and accurately process adjustment requests in line with standard procedures and regulatory guidelines
β’ Engage in payment adjustment initiatives
β’ Manage complex claims as assigned
β’ Align with IEHPβs Quality Program objectives, including HEDIS, CAHPS, and NCQA Accreditation
β’ At least four (4) years of experience in evaluating and processing institutional and professional medical claims
β’ Proficient in the following areas: Medical claims systems, ICD-10, and CPT coding
β’ Experience in reviewing medical authorizations
β’ Ability to interpret provider contract rates and determine medical benefit coverage
β’ Previous experience managing provider disputes, appeals, and claim adjustments
β’ Experience preferred in an HMO or Managed Care environment
β’ Medicare and/or Medi-Cal experience is a plus
β’ Background in a managed care or government payer setting is advantageous
β’ High School Diploma or GED is required
β’ Comprehensive understanding of claims industry and customer service standards
β’ Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPC coding, and general claims processing practices
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced Microsoft Excel
β’ Effective written communication skills
β’ Capability to analyze data and interpret regulatory requirements
β’ Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and data entry proficiency are essential
β’ Typing speed of at least 45 wpm
β’ Excellent oral and written communication capabilities
β’ Ability to foster successful relationships across the organization
