Senior Associate, Finance Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the entire accounts payable process, which includes vendor onboarding, invoice capture and coding, approvals, payment processing, vendor reconciliations, supplier credit memos, and RMA credits.

• Generate and monitor customer invoices in accordance with commercial contracts, oversee collections, and reconcile receipts.

• Keep track of monthly budget versus actuals, pinpoint variances, and ensure budget owners are held accountable.

• Create presentation slides and financial documents for board meetings and updates to investors.

• Oversee expense workflows, assist with 1099 filings, manage multi-state sales and use tax registrations, handle exemption certificate administration, and coordinate month-end close with external accountants.

• Leverage AI tools and scripting to streamline reconciliations, reporting, and repetitive administrative tasks.

• Collaborate closely with the founders and external accounting firm as AeroVect's inaugural dedicated finance hire.

• Manage daily financial operations across the company's entities in the US and Canada.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–4 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, audit, investment banking, private equity, or a finance role within a startup environment.

• Proficient in Excel with the capability to create precise financial models and board-ready slides promptly.

• Outstanding attention to detail.

• Ability to proactively utilize AI tools to automate reconciliation, reporting, and administrative tasks.

• Comfortable in holding budget owners accountable for timelines and commitments.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• CPA (or currently pursuing), CFA Level I+, or equivalent qualifications preferred.

• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment, with responsibilities in AP/AR and other financial duties preferred.

• Familiarity with Ramp and QuickBooks Online is a plus.

• Experience with hardware, inventory, or fixed-asset accounting is advantageous.

• Interest in aviation, robotics, or autonomous vehicles is preferred.
