This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold high-quality assessment items and passages in the Spanish language throughout their entire life cycle.

• Ensure alignment of content with standards, frameworks, resources, specifications, checklists, and style guides.

• Contribute to the creation of item specifications, process documentation, test blueprints, and evaluations of item bank inventory.

• Act as a subject matter expert in Spanish language assessment for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Facilitate meetings and collaborative initiatives with partners.

• Assist in leading training sessions for vendors, item writers, and educators.

• Consult with program management, participate in relevant meetings, and monitor project progress.

• Contribute to the development of new test designs, item and test prototypes, and innovative assessment concepts.

• Leverage expertise in Spanish literacy, transadaptation, multilingual learners, linguistic precision, register, and cultural relevance.

• Support project launch meetings and oversee development-specific project discussions.

• Enhance processes and procedures while tracking tasks, schedules, budgets, and project requirements.

• Communicate decisions, impacts, progress, risks, and subsequent steps with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Promote Agile/Scrum practices across assessment and content teams.

• Train and mentor staff in areas of specialization.

• Cultivate expertise in development tools, software, and processes while sharing best practices.

• Implement project modifications and escalate issues when further intervention is necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Education or a relevant field such as Spanish, Linguistics, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience in developing Spanish assessment items.

• Knowledge and experience with curriculum materials and standards.

• Subject matter expertise in both Spanish Language Arts and English Language Arts.

• Proficiency in industry standards concerning assessment quality, particularly item and test requirements.

• Experience with both custom and off-the-shelf large-scale assessment development processes.

• Familiarity with research design, data analysis, psychometric concepts, and measurement principles.

• Strong ability to collaborate extensively with colleagues.

• Understanding of Agile methodologies.

• Capability to devise creative solutions to resource and scheduling challenges.

• Experience in translation/transadaptation from English to Spanish and Spanish copyediting.

• Background in dual language education settings and/or experience with multilingual Spanish/English students.

• Proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish and English.

• Ability to convey subject-area expertise to both internal and external audiences.
