Senior Area Certified Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Delivers classroom instruction and/or practical behind-the-wheel training to new operators, as well as retraining for existing operators.

• Offers training and mentoring to personnel at various locations.

• Monitors participant attendance and maintains training records in accordance with regulations and company policies.

• Assists with safety initiatives including accident investigations, compliance documentation, safety meetings, and the continuous development of operators.

• Educates employees on safety and compliance regulations while providing support across multiple locations within the designated service area.

⛳️ Requirements

• This position involves approximately 60% travel to around 30 locations.

• Must hold valid school bus credentials necessary for conducting school bus driver training.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• 1-3 years of experience in transportation, safety, or a related field within the school bus industry is preferred.

• Familiarity with federal and state regulations concerning safety and environmental matters.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively while adapting swiftly to changing circumstances.

• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.

• Must have a reliable vehicle for travel within the service area as needed.

• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.

• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical examinations.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• ODE Behind-the-Wheel Trainer certification is preferred.

• 1-3 years of experience in training school bus drivers is desirable.
