Senior Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise AI, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement scalable AI services along with the necessary infrastructure to support AI-driven product functionalities.

• Develop solutions aimed at assessing and enhancing the quality of LLM outputs.

• Construct frameworks and tools that facilitate AI feature development across the engineering team.

• Design and maintain systems for model tuning, evaluation, and optimization processes.

• Contribute to the deployment and operational reliability of AI services in a production setting.

• Optimize AI services for latency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

• Collaborate with the CTO on AI capabilities, model utilization, architecture, and design decisions for systems.

• Provide technical leadership and establish development patterns along with engineering best practices.

• Engage in technical architecture discussions regarding AI systems and platform functionalities.

• Establish dependable systems that support AI-driven product features within the first 90 days.

• Enhance the performance, consistency, and reliability of AI-generated outputs.

• Facilitate rapid experimentation while ensuring production-grade reliability and engineering standards.

• Assist fellow engineers in building AI-powered features more efficiently.

• Exhibit technical leadership and ownership over the design and implementation of AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend or systems development.

• Proficient in Python development.

• Experience in designing and constructing backend services or distributed systems.

• Familiarity with integrating LLM APIs, generative AI services, or AI-enabled functionalities into production systems.

• Background in evaluating or enhancing AI model performance in production settings.

• Strong aptitude for problem-solving and systems design.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

• Applicants must include a brief description of one AI-powered feature, service, or system they contributed to or supported in production.

• Nice to have: Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Nice to have: Knowledge in model fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt evaluation, or LLM evaluation methods.

• Nice to have: Experience with internal AI tooling or infrastructure.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with vector databases or AI data pipelines.

• Nice to have: Background in fintech or B2B SaaS.

• Must reside and work within the United States.
