This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the scientific liaison between the generative chemistry discovery process and external partners who are validating candidate molecules.
• Serve as the primary scientific contact for co-development partners, addressing problem definitions, target specifications, constraints, and qualification criteria on a daily basis.
• Manage the generative chemistry discovery workflow for PFAS-substitution applications.
• Evaluate predicted compounds for their chemical plausibility and suitability for specific use cases.
• Prioritize candidates and create decision-ready shortlists for partner experimental validation.
• Evaluate generative and simulation outputs against constraints related to semiconductor processes, performance, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
• Convert partner validation results and experimental data into actionable technical enhancements.
• Oversee technical improvements through multiple design iterations.
• Collaborate with teams focused on datasets, computational chemistry, machine learning, and generative modeling.
• Ensure alignment of property targets, screening oracles, and reward objectives with partner qualification standards.
• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of post-PhD experience (or equivalent) in industrial or applied R&D focused on developing, formulating, or qualifying high-purity performance materials and formulations to replace existing processes without compromising required properties.
• Knowledge of performance and EHS specifications that govern process-material qualification.
• Experience in bridging experiments and computations on application-driven projects with external partners.
• Proficient in Python, enabling the execution and configuration of computational discovery workflows and the interpretation of results.
• Comfortable collaborating with teams specializing in generative machine learning and physics-based simulations.
• Familiarity with generative molecular design, high-throughput virtual screening, or machine learning property predictions for molecules and materials.
• Experience in defining qualification protocols or reliability criteria in collaboration with fabs, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), or chemical suppliers.
• Practical hands-on experience with PFAS phase-out or fluorine-free reformulation in a fabrication or specialty chemicals environment.
• Understanding of semiconductor unit processes, such as lithography, etching, chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP), cleaning, or thermal management.
• Proven track record of publications or patents in semiconductor materials, fluorochemistry, or PFAS alternatives.
• Experience working within a CHIPS Act or other federally funded R&D program.
• Candidates must not participate in foreign talent programs sponsored by China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located.
• Equity and performance-based incentives.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• 401(k) plan with company matching.
• Generous parental leave policy.
• Flexible hybrid work options.
• Generous paid time off (PTO).
• Direct involvement in CHIPS Act-funded initiatives.
• Mentorship opportunities.
• Dedicated budgets for learning and development.
• Opportunities for professional growth.
