Senior Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a vital contributor to the growth and enhancement of Ascender Pro and various internal application initiatives.

• Assume responsibility for engineering tasks across both frontend and backend systems, efficiently building and delivering features.

• Design, develop, and sustain application functionalities utilizing Python for the backend and React/TypeScript for the frontend.

• Contribute to additional projects developed in Go as necessary.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while assessing and correcting AI-generated outputs.

• Collaborate with the current engineering team to rapidly deliver production-quality code.

• Engage in architectural decisions and assist in establishing best practices for the application stack.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues throughout the complete stack.

• Provide support for other internal engineering initiatives as time permits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Python for backend development.

• Solid practical experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and NPM.

• Experience with or openness to working in Go.

• Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage a high volume of work effectively.

• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) with critical thinking skills to assess the validity of AI outputs.

• Comfort in navigating the full stack with a focus on backend systems.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-motivated work ethic.

• A friendly, collaborative, humble, and honest demeanor, with a continuous improvement mindset.

• 6-8+ years of professional software development experience.

• Proven history of building and deploying production applications using Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.

• Experience with Go is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with Ascender, AWX, or Ansible automation platforms is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Experience with event-driven architectures, infrastructure automation, or DevOps tools is a plus.
