Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, develop, and deploy Android applications.

• Work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and team members to address challenges and deliver value to the business.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and scalable code that adheres to best practices in Android development.

• Provide mentorship to engineers through code reviews and collaborative programming sessions.

• Assess team processes and identify areas for continuous improvement.

• Contribute to and advocate for engineering standards and best practices.

• Ensure the performance, stability, security, and reliability of applications across various Android devices and operating system versions.

• Engage in the development of innovative fintech solutions that improve customer experiences and optimize financial services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• More than 4 years of professional experience in Android development.

• Proven experience in architecting, designing, building, and delivering high-quality Android applications.

• In-depth knowledge of the Android SDK and the Android application development ecosystem.

• Strong expertise in Kotlin, with the ability to write idiomatic, readable, and maintainable code.

• Comprehensive understanding of Android architecture patterns, design principles, and SOLID principles.

• Experience in customizing Android UI components, navigation, transitions, lists, and complex layouts.

• A successful track record of designing and implementing high-quality, reliable, and crash-free Android applications.

• Hands-on experience with integrating RESTful APIs and managing asynchronous operations.

• Familiarity with dependency injection, modularization, and maintainable application architectures.

• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

• Experience with agile methodologies and collaborative software development practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development is a plus.

• Knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and reactive programming is beneficial.

• Experience with Android unit, integration, and UI testing is a plus.

• Familiarity with Gradle, build optimization, and CI/CD pipelines for Android applications is advantageous.

• Experience with Google Play Console and application release processes is a plus.

• Knowledge of GraphQL is beneficial.

• Experience in the FinTech industry is advantageous.

• Background in consumer lending or credit card issuance is a plus.
