Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain analytical data models that convert raw engineering and product data into clear, reusable datasets.

• Specify facts, dimensions, metrics, and canonical business entities that are utilized across the organization.

• Implement and enhance tools such as dbt for data transformations, testing, documentation, and lineage tracking.

• Establish maintainable analytical transformation methodologies.

• Develop automated checks to ensure completeness, freshness, uniqueness, referential integrity, and other indicators of data quality.

• Identify data issues closer to their origin.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to consistently define key metrics across dashboards, APIs, and customer interactions.

• Enhance developer and analyst support through documentation, examples, reusable models, and data-flow guidance.

• Operate within a collaborative, performance-oriented team setting.

• Some travel may be necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Highly proficient in working with complex SQL.

• Experience with dbt or comparable transformation frameworks.

• Familiarity with staging models, intermediate models, marts, testing, lineage, and semantic layers.

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, including normalized and denormalized models, facts and dimensions, grain, and slowly changing dimensions.

• A strong focus on data quality, encompassing tests, contracts, and documentation.

• Capability to collaborate with engineers, analysts, product managers, and domain experts to articulate precise data concepts.

• Experience in a rapidly growing SaaS environment (bonus).

• Background in introducing dbt or a similar modeling framework into an existing data platform (bonus).

• Familiarity with Databricks, Delta Lake, or lakehouse architectures (bonus).

• Experience with data catalogs, lineage, or governance platforms such as OpenMetadata (bonus).

• Background in defining semantic models or metric contracts used by analytics and production applications (bonus).

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US.

• Must be willing to work EST hours in your current time zone.
