Senior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Integrate machine learning into supply chain and logistics systems for a federal health client.

• Address mission challenges from initial framing to model deployment.

• Determine which aspects are valuable for modeling and which are not.

• Oversee the analytical process from start to finish.

• Convert operational issues into a comprehensive analytical framework.

• Create, train, and assess models for forecasting, classification, and natural language processing tasks.

• Manage the transition from notebook development to production, encompassing retraining, monitoring, and drift detection.

• Collaborate with data engineering teams for data gathering, cleansing, and integration.

• Convey results and their implications to decision-making stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree and over 18 years of experience in analytics, data science, or machine learning.

• Experience with production-level TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras, including training with GPU acceleration.

• Proven track record of managing a model from problem identification through deployment and subsequent monitoring.

• Ability to construct data pipelines essential for your models, including large-scale storage and retrieval.

• Experience deploying models in a government-controlled environment instead of a public AI service, ensuring compliance with federal standards for bias evaluation and documentation.

• Proficient in validating model outcomes and conveying uncertainty to non-technical stakeholders.

• Capability to obtain and sustain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).

• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered for this role.

• Candidates must have resided in the United States for at least 3 years due to background check requirements.

• Preferred: Experience with federal health IT programs.

• Preferred: Knowledge of time series forecasting related to inventory, demand, or logistics.

• Preferred: Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, or equivalent).

• Preferred: Experience in natural language processing involving operational or clinical text.

• Preferred: Cloud experience in government environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).

• Preferred: Experience with SAFe at scale, including Program Increment planning.

• Preferred: Understanding of federal IT governance and approved tooling processes.
