Senior AI Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct precise and consistent security evaluations of Samsara's software, code, and firmware against adversarial and AI-driven attacks, while implementing necessary fixes.

• Convert general AI security insights into tailored application security remedies for Samsara, adapting software methodologies for hardware and embedded firmware.

• Develop and rigorously test AI-powered security tools and processes, promoting their use throughout the security division.

• Collaborate with engineering teams, hardware experts, and leadership, including VP-level threat modeling discussions, acting as the authority on AI-related security risks.

• Establish and guide Samsara's medium- and long-term strategy for the safe and effective integration of AI within security operations.

• Leverage cutting-edge AI/LLM tools for offensive validation, conducting red-teaming exercises on Samsara's systems, and enhancing defensive tools.

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara's cultural principles as the company expands globally and opens new offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, offensive security, or a closely related field.

• Proven impact and influence in implementing application fixes across a significant portion of an organization.

• Practical experience utilizing AI/LLM tools in actual security workflows, including integration with APIs, agents, or automation.

• Experience in performing technical security evaluations for both software and hardware/firmware environments.

• Proficiency in creating secure code solutions with engineers using programming languages like GoLang.

• Background in developing AI and agentic solutions using GitHub and working within the AWS cloud environment.

• Familiarity with AI-specific attack methods such as prompt injection, jailbreaks, and model/agent exploitation.

• Experience in constructing or validating security measures for agentic AI, RAG systems, or platforms integrated with LLMs.

• Proven track record of influencing organization-wide security strategies or presenting technical findings to senior and executive stakeholders.

• Relevant industry certifications such as OSCP, GIAC, CISSP, or AWS certifications are beneficial.
