Senior AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate each prototype and document the decision to advance, modify, or discontinue it.

• Develop data models, APIs, integrations, error handling mechanisms, testing protocols, and deployment processes to ensure reliable production software.

• Implement automated testing, secret scanning, and code as well as dependency checks that align with the production approval workflow.

• Integrate Cardiff’s systems with external lenders and vendors while standardizing disparate data.

• Oversee, maintain, and enhance deployed systems for optimal performance.

• Address incidents and document the corrective measures taken.

• Provide written updates, identify blockers, and coordinate scope and acceptance criteria with business stakeholders.

• Transform AI-generated prototypes into dependable software utilized by Cardiff’s teams.

• Assist with lender routing, sales calculators, decision-making workflows, and automation agents.

• Achieve measurable enhancements in processing efficiency and time to funding.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of seven years of software development experience, with recent hands-on responsibility for systems delivered to end users.

• Strong judgment in production engineering, including testing, security, reliability, monitoring, and incident management.

• Proficient in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, and cloud deployment, preferably on AWS.

• Experience in integrating external systems and converting inconsistent inputs into clean, functional data models.

• Familiarity with AI development as a fundamental practice, including coding tools, LLM APIs, agents, and evaluations, with meticulous review of generated code.

• Ability to evaluate existing code, decide what to keep or rebuild, and deliver effective solutions swiftly.

• Comfortable collaborating directly with the Managing Partner and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
