Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop production-level code and create robust backend software components.

• Construct dependable asynchronous execution pipelines in conjunction with AI models.

• Design deterministic-agentic bridges to facilitate predictable, secure, and compliant financial operations.

• Transition machine learning models from research prototypes to stable, high-performance production code.

• Collaborate with backend and data engineers to evolve agentic workflows from prototypes to reliable, monitored production systems.

• Work across retrieval, memory, and orchestration layers.

• Utilize AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot in daily engineering tasks.

• Assume technical ownership of critical components within the AI ecosystem.

• Contribute to the development of an AI-driven financial platform for business owners, artists, and freelancers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing, developing, and scaling production-quality machine learning and AI systems.

• Practical knowledge of modern LLM tooling and orchestration frameworks.

• Experience in deploying agentic systems to production environments.

• Familiarity with semantic search and retrieval architectures.

• Experience in measuring AI systems' performance in production regarding quality, cost, and latency.

• Proficient in handling personally identifiable information and sensitive data with LLMs in a regulated setting.

• Experience in designing and deploying AI systems within stringent security, compliance, and audit standards.

• Strong programming capabilities in Python.

• Experience with asynchronous execution models.

• Ability to manage deadlines and take ownership of tasks while providing technical context.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Startup experience is a plus.

• Experience in fintech or cryptocurrency is preferred but not essential.

• A proven track record of deploying live, multi-agent automated workflows to production is a bonus.
