Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement backend Python systems that integrate LLMs using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), ensuring that services are scalable, secure, and ready for production.

• Develop stateful agentic architectures and reasoning loops for multi-step AI workflows utilizing frameworks such as LangGraph.

• Create, deploy, and manage cloud-native AI applications on AWS, including services like Bedrock, Lambda, and ECS.

• Advocate for Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Context-Driven Development (CDD) to achieve deterministic, structured model outputs.

• Design semantic memory layers and construct advanced RAG pipelines utilizing vector databases.

• Establish AI security guardrails, boundary controls, and Human-in-the-Loop approval processes to ensure compliance, privacy, and safety.

• Oversee application health through APM, LangSmith, and Phoenix; monitor agent trajectories and LLM performance metrics while addressing performance issues.

• Assist in onboarding teams, creating reusable prompts, automating repetitive workflows, and promoting organization-wide adoption of AI-native developer tools like Claude Code and Cursor.

• Collaborate with ML Engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver impactful AI features.

• Articulate technical architecture and trade-offs to stakeholders effectively.

• Enhance engineering standards through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role, with a solid grounding in Python.

• Practical experience with contemporary Generative AI orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen) and agentic state management.

• Hands-on experience with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), function calling, tool-use APIs, and ensuring structured outputs across leading foundation models.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, including Bedrock, and experience in building, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications; exposure to Azure or GCP is a plus.

• Experience in designing and developing APIs utilizing frameworks like FastAPI or Django to encapsulate agentic workflows as consumable backend services.

• Strong abilities in system design and problem-solving, capable of visualizing and debugging complex, non-linear agent trajectories and AI workflows.

• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL or NoSQL) and vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus) for semantic memory and RAG workflows.

• Proficient in DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Git-based workflows.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with global teams and clarify complex AI concepts.

• Comfortable translating between technical and business perspectives while managing ambiguous requirements.

• A growth mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for learning and applying new AI methodologies, such as SDD and CDD, to practical challenges.
