Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer – Finance Applications, Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive web applications, customer portals, and dashboards, featuring responsive interfaces, backend services, APIs, databases, authentication, and role-based access control.

• Create AI agents that incorporate tool calling, retrieval, structured outputs, workflow orchestration, evaluation, and necessary human approval steps.

• Take full ownership of implementation, including testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting in production, documentation, and user adoption.

• Design sustainable architecture and reusable integrations utilizing OAuth, webhooks, queues, retries, duplicate prevention, and recovery from failures.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure, Docker, CI/CD, management of secrets, logging, backups, performance, and operating costs; review code and mentor fellow developers.

• Construct finance dashboards and applications for invoicing, payments, cash flow management, collections, expenses, reconciliation, and exception reviews.

• Integrate various accounting, billing, payment, and ERP platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Stripe, Bill.com, or Ramp.

• Develop AI-assisted document extraction and validation systems for invoices, receipts, and statements; ensure synchronization of customers, vendors, invoices, and payment statuses.

• Execute reconciliation, maintain audit trails, and establish approval workflows for payments, refunds, and accounting entries; apply explicit rules for calculations and financial entries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with personal responsibility for production applications from architecture to deployment.

• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript, React or Next.js, backend development using Node.js, and practical experience with Python.

• Experience in designing SQL/PostgreSQL databases, APIs, authentication, multi-tenant access controls, and background job management.

• Proven track record of delivering AI agents and third-party integrations, including secure credential management, rate limiting, synchronization, and handling production errors.

• Hands-on experience with cloud deployment on AWS, Azure, or GCP; familiar with Docker, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and incident resolution.

• Ability to convert business requirements into technical plans, estimate tasks, communicate trade-offs, lead implementation efforts, and work independently.

• Experience with the integration of accounting, payment, billing, expense management, or ERP applications in production environments.

• Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, invoices, credits, payments, reconciliation, sensitive financial data, and financial access controls.

• Familiarity with CPA or bookkeeping workflows.

• Experience with Plaid integrations.

• Understanding of multi-entity accounting and multi-currency systems.

• Knowledge of month-end closing processes.

• Experience with confidence-based review queues for extracted financial data.

• Reliable and high-speed internet connection, ideally with a minimum of 25 MBPS, along with a backup solution for power interruptions or service provider outages.

• Personal computer or laptop with at least 8GB RAM and a Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 3 / equivalent Mac from 2013 or newer; running Windows 10 or higher / Catalina 10.15 or newer; updated web browsers and security software; at least 500GB/128 SSD storage.

• Headset or earphones with noise cancellation capability and a webcam with 720p or higher resolution.
