Senior AI Developer – Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage AI systems along with agentic workflows that link foundation models to data, tools, and applications.

• Deliver production AI systems and agentic workflows that provide measurable benefits in products and internal operations.

• Maintain production quality by ensuring observability, testing, security, and cost management.

• Transform evaluation feedback from Data Scientists into engineering enhancements.

• Create context integrations that enable agents to accurately utilize governed data and application functionalities.

• Establish reusable patterns and components for future teams to leverage.

• Influence architectural decisions concerning quality, risk, and cost, making trade-offs transparent.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product teams, as well as Platform and Security specialists.

• Set the technical direction for production AI engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in production engineering using Python and SQL, with experience in testing, CI/CD, and managing cloud systems.

• Practical experience in building and operating AI applications utilizing foundation models, agents, tools, and context.

• Skilled in instrumenting and assessing non-deterministic systems, including observability, evaluations, and regression testing.

• Strong architectural judgment regarding reliability, security, and cost, with the ability to form and defend a technical stance.

• Experience in developing components or tools that are adopted by other developers.

• Familiarity with Snowflake and its AI features (Cortex), or the capability to quickly learn these technologies.

• A builder mindset: you take ownership of your outputs, experiment rapidly, and utilize AI-assisted development tools routinely and critically.

• Bonus: Experience with AI services on Azure, AWS, or GCP, or developer platforms that enhance AI adoption across teams.
