This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and develop the AWS-native data infrastructure supporting enterprise AI applications.

• Spearhead the design and progression of knowledge graphs and ontologies that facilitate AI reasoning, retrieval, and explainability.

• Integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured enterprise data into a unified, queryable graph with clear provenance.

• Manage graph queries, vector indexes, and hybrid retrieval, leading to quantifiable enhancements in grounding quality.

• Curate grounding corpora, evaluation datasets, and retrieval benchmarks for LLM-based functionalities.

• Measure retrieval quality, grounding accuracy, and freshness metrics while minimizing regressions.

• Define training and inference data contracts with AI engineers, incorporating feedback loops from user signals.

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both operational and analytical workloads.

• Set modeling standards, naming conventions, and reuse patterns.

• Construct ingestion and transformation pipelines using Python and SQL, leveraging AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Athena, OpenSearch, and Neptune, as well as Bedrock and Bedrock Knowledge Bases.

• Write infrastructure as code in CloudFormation and implement AWS best practices regarding IAM, security, cost, and observability.

• Assess data sources, pinpoint data quality issues, and design automated validation, monitoring, metadata, and lineage systems.

• Integrate data access with enterprise identity and access management policies.

• Establish data contracts, attributes, and metadata for access control based on attributes and context.

• Contribute to the technical data dictionary, business glossary, and data catalog.

• Set the design framework for data and semantic modeling throughout the team.

• Guide engineers and citizen developers in modeling, ontology design, and retrieval engineering.

• Articulate trade-offs and value propositions to product, business, and executive stakeholders.

• Participate in in-person New Hire Orientation on Day 1.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.

• At least three years of experience in data engineering.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.

• Employment visas will not be sponsored now or in the future.

• U.S. Person status is necessary for access to U.S. export-controlled information: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee or refugee status.

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on data engineering experience is preferred.

• Proven history of designing data models and semantic layers.

• Practical experience with knowledge graphs and ontologies, including Neo4j, Neptune, TigerGraph, RDF/SPARQL, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with graph query languages such as Cypher, Gremlin, or SPARQL.

• Strong proficiency in AWS technologies: CloudFormation or CDK, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, IAM, and Bedrock.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Comfortable working with relational, graph, vector, and document stores.

• Experience supporting AI/ML or LLM systems, including RAG pipelines, embeddings, evaluation datasets, and grounding corpora.

• Experience in integrating data access with enterprise identity and policy systems.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions.

• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent presentation and influencing abilities.

• Successful completion of a drug screen, if applicable.
