This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the strategy for AI integration in analytics, reporting, and self-service data accessibility.
• Take charge of AI tool selection, management, and architecture, which includes Claude on Snowflake, MCP servers, skills, agent workflows, and IDE integrations.
• Create evaluation and guardrail systems to ensure the quality of agent output and for critical reporting tasks.
• Establish governance and delivery protocols for various analytics use cases.
• Troubleshoot issues related to LLMs, data modeling, metadata, and system architecture.
• Strategize for the evolution of agent patterns, tools, business inquiries, and compliance requirements.
• Provide mentorship to analytics engineers, analysts, and other engineers on AI-enhanced analytics.
• Lead external communications and content related to AI-supported analytics.
• Enhance and refine dbt and Snowflake models for the purposes of reporting, analytics, and AI utilization.
• Set standards for models, metrics, testing, documentation, and data lineage.
• Oversee the development of semantic and context layers, metric definitions, business context, and metadata.
• Foster agreement on the adoption of technical standards across the team.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data platforms, ML platforms, or developer tooling, including serving as the senior technical authority for a significant data/ML/AI project.
• Hands-on experience in architecting LLM systems, including agents, evaluations, RAG, MCP, tool utilization, multi-step workflows, and their potential failure modes.
• Proficient in dbt and cloud warehouse technologies, with a preference for Snowflake.
• In-depth knowledge of semantic layers and metadata management.
• Proven ability to achieve consensus across teams regarding technical direction and implementation.
• Effective in external communication through blog posts, presentations, open-source contributions, and customer-facing thought leadership.
• Profile aligned with an architect-mentor role rather than solely as an individual contributor.
• Bonus qualifications include experience with Claude Code / Agent SDK, healthcare/claims data, or previous platform development from inception to launch.
