Senior Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Investigate claims for personal, casualty, or property loss or damages against insurance or other companies.

• Strive to achieve out-of-court settlements with claimants.

• Manage complex losses independently within the scope of designated authority.

• Provide assistance on larger losses, including those based on accounting such as business interruption and inventory.

• Review claim forms and records to assess insurance coverage.

• Conduct interviews, phone calls, or correspondence with claimants and witnesses.

• Consult police and hospital records as needed.

• Inspect property damage to ascertain the extent of company liability.

• Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.

• Create findings reports and negotiate settlements with claimants.

• Advise the legal department on litigation when negotiations fail.

• Attend litigation hearings as required.

• Update case reserves in assigned claims files to account for anticipated costs.

• Aid in the preparation of loss experience reports to assess profitability and determine appropriate future rates.

• Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

• Support organizational quality initiatives.

• Travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Must have obtained the IIA-AIC designation.

• Actively pursuing an additional professional insurance designation is required.

• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Proven commitment to timely reporting.

• Excellent customer service abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective time management and organizational skills.

• Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting.

• Ability to meet or surpass Performance Competencies.

• Must be capable of standing and/or walking for extended periods.

• Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend as necessary.

• Capacity to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, both hot and cold.

• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach/work overhead.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Must have the capability to push or pull up to 100 pounds.

• Must be able to drive for up to 4 hours per day.

• Must have continuous use of manual dexterity.
