Senior ADHD Specialist, Independent Prescriber

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based medication prescribing for ADHD patients in line with national guidelines and internal protocols.

• Oversee a substantial clinical caseload while ensuring quality, safety, and an optimal patient experience.

• Conduct End of Titration Reviews and annual medication assessments.

• Evaluate, initiate, modify, and monitor ADHD medications utilizing independent or supplementary prescribing qualifications.

• Engage with patients through Psychiatry UK's secure patient portal.

• Perform risk assessments, recognize safeguarding issues, and escalate them as needed.

• Participate in collaborative discussions with Consultant Psychiatrists, prescribers, and operational team members.

• Keep precise, timely, and legally compliant clinical records using electronic patient record systems.

• Contribute to clinical governance, audit processes, and initiatives for quality improvement.

• Stay informed on ADHD clinical guidelines, prescribing regulations, and professional standards.

• Spot opportunities to enhance prescribing pathways, patient experiences, and service efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• First-level registered Mental Health nurse (RMN) or first-level registered nurse (Adult Nurse/Children’s Nurse/Learning Disabilities Nurse).

• Qualification in Independent & Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing (V300).

• A minimum of 1 year of experience post-prescribing qualification.

• At least 4 years of clinical experience in ADHD prescribing roles (private or NHS), encompassing titration, medication reviews, and long-term management of ADHD treatment.

• Advanced prescribing capabilities and outstanding clinical judgment in ADHD medication management.

• Significant experience in managing complex patient presentations throughout the ADHD treatment pathway.

• Strong comprehension of medication titration, management of side effects, treatment optimization, and long-term prescriptions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to make independent clinical decisions confidently.

• Experience in contributing to multidisciplinary discussions.

• Proficient in maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

• Understanding of safeguarding principles.

• Proficient in using electronic patient record systems and digital communication tools.

• Computer literacy is essential.
