Senior Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes while ensuring a precise and efficient GAAP closing procedure.

• Oversee global consolidation across various legal entities, currencies, and jurisdictions, including intercompany accounting and eliminations.

• Manage technical accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, complex transactions, accounting policies, and GAAP interpretation.

• Prepare and assess both internal and external financial reports.

• Spearhead the advancement of accounting systems, integrations, and financial data architecture.

• Minimize manual processes while enhancing financial controls and transparency.

• Collaborate with People Operations on global payroll accounting, reconciliations, controls, and coordination with providers.

• Supervise financial administration, which includes banking, treasury management, entity support, expenses, vendors, and documentation.

• Direct the external financial statement audit and manage audit preparedness, schedules, documentation, and relationships with auditors.

• Establish and uphold accounting policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.

• Partner with business leaders to facilitate decision-making through precise financial reporting.

• Identify and address financial, accounting, systems, and process risks.

• Lead a streamlined finance organization while mentoring direct reports through systems, automation, standards, and clear responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active CPA is mandatory.

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience is required.

• Extensive experience in managing close processes, consolidation, reporting, and technical accounting.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

• Ability to independently research and solve complex accounting issues.

• Experience in a post-Series B or later-stage, high-growth technology firm.

• Familiarity with global entities, multi-entity consolidation, intercompany transactions, and international accounting operations.

• Strong background in revenue recognition and advanced accounting topics pertinent to SaaS or technology firms.

• Proven experience managing annual external audits and audit readiness.

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting systems, ERP environments, integrations, and financial data flows.

• Highly technical and knowledgeable in AI applications.

• Demonstrated history of utilizing automation and technology to enhance finance operations.

• Experience collaborating with People Operations on payroll, preferably across multiple countries or payroll providers.

• Experience in managing and developing accounting professionals in a lean operating environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capable of navigating between strategic issues, technical accounting, systems architecture, and hands-on implementation.

• Comfortable operating in an environment where processes are evolving and infrastructure needs to be established.

• Availability to work during U.S. business hours.
