This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Prepare and process invoices related to project management and payroll.
• Create, input, and maintain journal entries, which include job cost, recurring, standard, accrued, and adjusting entries.
• Oversee the monthly accounts receivable close for designated jobs and departments.
• Prepare accounts receivable statements and provide assistance with customer collections and payment follow-up.
• Reconcile accounts receivable aging reports with the general ledger and address any discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll funding requests and perform true-up calculations.
• Manage accounting tasks associated with deferred revenue and revenue adjustments.
• Assist with general ledger account reconciliations and maintain specific segments of the master reconciliation spreadsheet.
• Gather documentation, clarify details, and resolve accounting issues in collaboration with accounting and operational teams.
• Support month-end, year-end, and interim audit processes, including documentation and reconciliations.
• Maintain well-organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Aid in special projects and any additional needs related to accounts receivable or payroll invoicing.
• Foster positive working relationships across the accounting, operations, and other departments.
• Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely work in a remote computerized accounting setting.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or accounts receivable.
• Proficient in AR invoicing, collections, aging reports, and account reconciliation.
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries.
• Familiarity with supporting month-end financial close activities.
• Knowledge of job cost accounting and payroll-related invoicing.
• Experience with D365 / Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or a similar ERP/accounting system.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of VLOOKUPs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Experience reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to remain organized while managing multiple accounting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with accounting and operational teams in a remote environment.
• A customer-service-oriented approach when assisting internal and external stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent, along with substantial relevant accounting/accounts receivable experience, may also be acceptable.
• Familiarity with incentive fee structures.
• Experience supporting year-end or interim audits.
• Background in project-based, job cost, construction, engineering, utilities, or services accounting environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while meeting monthly accounting deadlines.
