Senior Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and manage the complete monthly close process, which includes journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and the preparation of financial statements.

• Drive ongoing enhancements to reduce close timelines and improve accuracy.

• Act as the main contact for the annual financial audit and corporate tax return preparation.

• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors, prepare necessary schedules and documentation, and ensure timely and accurate filings.

• Work alongside Revenue Operations to oversee and enhance the entire contract and order-to-cash process.

• Ensure precise revenue recognition, billing integrity, and seamless transitions between sales, operations, and finance.

• Investigate and resolve regulatory, tax, and financial compliance issues, including state registrations and sales tax responsibilities.

• Manage the complete payroll processing and compliance, which includes multi-state tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and year-end reporting.

• Collaborate with HR and external payroll service providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll execution.

• Spot opportunities to automate accounting workflows.

• Assess and implement tools and integrations that can scale with the business.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on payment processing strategies, revenue recognition, and data integrity initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA is highly preferred.

• Over 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or management-level position.

• In-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience managing the full-cycle month-end close.

• Demonstrated experience managing external audits and coordinating the preparation of corporate tax returns.

• Experience with multi-state payroll compliance and working with external payroll providers.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a focus on process improvement.

• Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment while maintaining proactive communication across teams.

• Prior audit or attestation experience at a nationally recognized public accounting firm (Big 4 or equivalent) is preferred.

• Familiarity with NetSuite ERP, including general ledger management, reporting, and system configuration is preferred.

• Experience with Stripe or Stripe Connect, especially in a marketplace or payment-platform context, is preferred.

• Previous experience at a SaaS, fintech, or payments company is preferred.

• Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition in a subscription or transaction-based business is preferred.
