Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Co-lead initiatives aimed at optimizing processes and enhancing efficiency.

• Identify manual workflows, develop roadmaps, and implement scalable enhancements.

• Manage close communications, facilitation, and tracking of activities.

• Maintain artifacts, templates, and frameworks to coordinate close operations.

• Lead recurring cross-team accounting programs, encompassing close management and consolidation efforts.

• Oversee the intercompany program and collaborate with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Compliance departments.

• Act as the accounting representative in strategic projects such as mergers and acquisitions, new entity formations, and organizational restructures.

• Manage project execution related to accounting across the organization.

• Develop and refine operational policies and internal control frameworks to ensure SOX compliance.

• Provide financial analysis and create metrics for the close process.

• Take ownership of accounting responsibilities for close areas, including expense accruals.

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, fluctuation analyses, and documentation for month-end close.

• Review intercompany transactions to ensure accurate settlements according to shared-service and transfer-pricing agreements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• A solid foundation in US GAAP is essential.

• Experience in intercompany accounting and multi-entity consolidation is necessary.

• Familiarity with international subsidiaries and transfer-pricing processes is preferred.

• Proficient in preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations.

• Capability to lead or assist cross-functional projects and programs.

• An orientation towards process improvement and automation with a proven track record of scalable solutions.

• Strong communication and facilitation abilities.

• Capacity to drive cross-functional alignment among Finance, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and Technology teams without direct authority.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.

• Experience with Workday Financials or another large ERP system and similar data tools is preferred.
