Senior Accountant – Recoveries

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Calculate and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual tenant recoveries, encompassing CAM, TAX, and INS.

• Ensure the precision of recovery billings and their impact on financial statements.

• Interpret lease provisions for tenant recovery computations, including exclusions, tenant cost pools, and GLA/GLOA.

• Update occupancy reports utilized in tenant recovery calculations.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies pertaining to tenant recoveries.

• Assist in the collection of outstanding recoveries by supplying necessary documentation.

• Collaborate with the third-party utility recoveries team on annual utility recoveries.

• Timely process tenant recovery billings and dispatch backup documentation.

• Calculate and complete annual escrow recoveries.

• Prepare annual per-square-foot rates for Leasing, Legal, and external clients.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to tenants and internal stakeholders, including Leasing, Asset Management, and Accounting.

• Identify efficiencies and work alongside the Manager for improvements.

• Establish recovery models for newly acquired properties as required.

• Oversee tenant recovery processes for annual reconciliations and disputes.

• Provide necessary documentation to the third-party recovery group.

• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or 5 years of relevant experience in tenant recoveries.

• A minimum of 3 years' experience with ERP general ledger systems (e.g., YARDI).

• Real estate accounting experience is preferred.

• Deadline-oriented; well-organized; with strong problem-solving abilities; adaptable.

• Proven written and verbal communication and documentation skills.

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Capability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
