Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee general ledger functions, encompassing journal entries, account reconciliations, and the processes for month-end and year-end closings.

• Manage Project Account Groups (PAGs) and the cost element frameworks within Costpoint.

• Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit standards.

• Assist with incurred cost submissions, provisional billing rates, and yearly indirect rate reconciliations.

• Process and evaluate transactions related to labor, travel, ODC, and subcontractors for projects.

• Conduct reconciliations for accounts payable and accrued liabilities.

• Aid in both internal and external audits, which includes DCAA and DCMA evaluations.

• Work in collaboration with Project Managers and Contracts personnel on project initiation, budgeting, and cost monitoring.

• Provide support in the configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of the Costpoint system across GL, AP, AR, Project Accounting, and Billing modules.

• Drive process enhancements to boost efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

• Report directly to the Senior Manager, Finance at Westinghouse Government Services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting.

• At least 2 years of experience in a government contracting setting.

• Strong technical accounting abilities.

• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS cost principles.

• Practical experience with Deltek Costpoint.

• Familiarity with accounting standards, audits, and cost compliance in the government contracting sphere.
