This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and quality of accounting and financial reporting for designated entities.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, roll-forwards, and create supporting workpapers.
• Record and analyze daily cash receipts, addressing any reconciling items.
• Support and carry out the month-end general ledger close, including necessary adjusting entries under accrual accounting.
• Generate month-end financial reporting packages, which include income statement variance analysis against budget and forecast, along with balance sheet reviews.
• Present and convey financial results and pertinent findings to key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations teams to reconcile and provide flash reports and ongoing reporting.
• Prepare PBC deliverables and supporting documentation for the annual financial audit and tax return preparation.
• Identify opportunities to optimize accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and boost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Finance and FP&A to offer ad hoc analysis and management support.
• Contribute to special projects, finance initiatives, and accounting assistance for acquisition integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to implement accounting principles in daily operations.
• Advanced analytical skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to tailor communication to various audiences.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Consistently meets deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Preferred: CPA designation or currently pursuing CPA licensure.
• Preferred: Experience in public accounting.
• Preferred: Background in a multi-entity, private-equity-backed, high-growth, or acquisition-focused organization.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Concur.
• Preferred: Interest in utilizing AI and emerging tools to enhance accounting workflows and efficiency.
