Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare and document administrative and operating expense accruals, including those related to audits, taxes, and recurring professional services.

• Manage a portfolio of reconciliations for prepaid expenses and accruals.

• Reconcile payroll and benefit-related accounts each period and conduct independent reviews of payroll processor entries.

• Act as a backup for payroll processing and associated benefits.

• Maintain investment accounting entries and reconciliations for both parent and insurance entities.

• Oversee debt accounting and evaluate as well as implement technical accounting requirements arising from changes in terms or rates.

• Prepare reports for covenant compliance and other monthly lender requirements.

• Assist in ensuring the segregation of duties during close activities, either as a preparer or an independent reviewer.

• Support software capitalization and internal-use software accounting and documentation efforts.

• Contribute to lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842 and other technical accounting issues.

• Investigate discrepancies and collaborate with Finance Operations and FP&A to resolve any issues.

• Develop system-driven allocations of administrative expenses across cost centers in conjunction with FP&A.

• Identify and integrate AI-enabled or automation tools to enhance the efficiency and scalability of accounting processes.

• Take on recurring one-off tasks to support Finance Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing account reconciliations and month-end close processes.

• Strong comprehension of accrual accounting and internal controls, including segregation of duties.

• Detail-oriented and responsible, with the capacity to fully own an area and drive it to completion.

• Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating effectively between operational and reporting functions.
