This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Accurately prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Reconcile GST and payroll obligations, ensuring adherence to ATO regulations.
• Maintain precise financial records and comprehensive accounts for a client portfolio utilizing Xero and Dext.
• Manage fixed assets, journal entries, and financial reporting activities.
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, payments, and reconciliations.
• Work collaboratively with bookkeeping and tax teams to ensure transaction accuracy and ledger integrity.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Provide payroll assistance and everyday accounting advice to clients.
• Foster and manage client relationships throughout the entire process, communicating directly with Australian SME owners.
• Deliver clear and actionable financial insights to aid client decision-making.
• At least 3 years of experience as an Accountant within the Australian accounting landscape.
• Strong background in client relationship management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience in preparing precise BAS and IAS submissions.
• Familiarity with GST and payroll liability reconciliation.
• Understanding of ATO regulations and Australian compliance standards.
• Proven experience in maintaining complete sets of accounts.
• Proficiency in using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero and Dext.
• Experience with managing fixed assets, journal entries, and financial reports.
• Expertise in overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Background in payroll support.
• Experience in preparing corporate tax returns is a significant advantage.
• Ability to exhibit ownership, accountability, humility, structured thinking, data-driven decision-making, problem-solving, attention to detail, collaboration, and analytical thinking.
• Tech-savvy with an interest in practical AI applications.
• Willingness to consent to necessary background checks, which may include education verification, criminal history, political exposure, bankruptcy, and adverse credit assessments.
