Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the revenue accounting for Shopify DTC, which includes managing sales, refunds, chargebacks, gift cards, shipping revenue, and deferred revenue in alignment with US GAAP.

• Reconcile Shopify transactions with payment processors, bank deposits, and ERP records.

• Assist with the revenue recognition for Amazon Cold Ship and reconcile sales and shipment data from Amazon Vendor Central with Green Rabbit fulfillment records.

• Create weekly consolidated sales invoices while investigating discrepancies in shipment, pricing, and quantities.

• Prepare monthly COGS accruals, analyze variances against actual costs, and document necessary adjustments.

• Aid in the month-end closing process, which includes journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and the resolution of any outstanding discrepancies.

• Support the setup of Paylocity payroll reporting, including GL account mapping and payroll tax registrations for new states.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to address accounting issues and enhance accuracy and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• At least 4 years of accounting experience, which includes month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• A solid understanding of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and accrual accounting principles.

• Proficient in Excel with advanced skills and experience handling large transactional datasets.

• Strong analytical capabilities and a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently within a remote setting.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

• Preferred experience with Shopify, Amazon Vendor Central, e-commerce accounting, or CPG.

• Additional experience with Paylocity, payroll reporting, or multi-state payroll tax registration is a plus.
