This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
β’ Develop the growth strategy for the manufacturing sector, emphasizing automation opportunities.
β’ Determine the competitive landscape for the business, including areas of focus and winning strategies.
β’ Recognize unmet customer needs, competitive risks, industry trends, and new opportunities.
β’ Convert insights into strategic decisions that affect portfolio strategy, product roadmaps, innovation investments, and market entry initiatives.
β’ Create, prioritize, and uphold global business cases for new growth opportunities in manufacturing and automation.
β’ Analyze markets to delineate customer segments, unmet needs, and competitive positioning.
β’ Identify and evaluate promising growth markets through customer, trend, and competitive analysis.
β’ Examine market attractiveness, entry barriers, revenue and margin potential, and execution challenges.
β’ Assist in defining the positioning of automation offerings within specific manufacturing sub-segments.
β’ Direct customer and market exploration via interviews, surveys, voice-of-customer initiatives, market analysis, competitive assessments, and industry trends.
β’ Transform qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable market entry and development initiatives.
β’ Create ecosystem maps for sub-segments to illustrate how the business can achieve success.
β’ Collaborate with teams in Strategic Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and business leadership.
β’ Influence decisions across various teams and levels without having direct authority.
β’ Present market insights, recommendations, and trade-offs to senior leadership.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
β’ 5β10 years of experience in strategic marketing, segment management, market research, or business development, preferably in a B2B industrial manufacturing context.
β’ A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, welding, automation, industrial equipment, or similar technical markets is preferred.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 50%, including both domestic and international travel.
β’ Demonstrated success in market or segment strategy, portfolio prioritization, or entering new markets.
β’ Strong skills in market analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic thinking.
β’ Proficiency in modeling market size, share, growth, margin potential, adoption timing, and portfolio trade-offs.
β’ Knowledge of industrial customer buying behaviors, value drivers, and application-level decision criteria.
β’ Familiarity with P&L drivers, pricing, margin dynamics, channel economics, and portfolio prioritization.
