Security Research Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design AI-enhanced detection tools to expedite the creation, tuning, and validation of detections at scale.

• Evaluate cloud, identity, and SaaS data sources to derive security insights and pinpoint detection opportunities.

• Carry out authorized attack simulations to assess detection coverage and uncover defensive weaknesses.

• Actively hunt for malicious activities across customer environments.

• Investigate security incidents, showcase product value, refine detection algorithms, and provide actionable insights.

• Participate in customer calls to present analysis findings, clarify results, and collect feedback for product improvement.

• Adjust customer detections to minimize false positives and enhance precision.

• Create AI-driven automation for investigative and threat-hunting processes across the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity.

• Practical incident response experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Practical incident response experience with identity providers such as Okta and Entra ID.

• In-depth understanding of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.

• Proven ability to detect threat actor activities in diverse environments.

• Extensive experience with log-based analysis.

• Established capability to identify malicious activities across various log sources.

• Skill in translating security research into actionable detections or threat-hunting investigations.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings to both engineers and customers.

• Experience in detection engineering at scale.

• Background in SOC or Managed Detection and Response is a plus.

• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, and SOAR tools is advantageous.

• Customer-facing technical experience is beneficial.

• Experience with AI tools and models is an added advantage.
