Security Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a high-achieving security team

• Define the team's direction and recruit as the function expands

• Own and implement Stedi’s security strategy

• Write CDK and create security playbooks

• Manage various AWS Organizations along with essential security tools and services

• Supervise compliance engineering and ensure that processes and documentation meet SOC, HIPAA, and HITRUST standards

• Oversee daily engineering activities, timelines, and resource allocation

• Establish performance expectations and evaluate team progress

• Identify vulnerabilities and conduct regular risk assessments

• Prioritize remediation efforts based on business and customer risks

• Mentor engineers and advocate for security as a collective responsibility

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in security or related fields

• Minimum of 3 years in a managerial position

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks including SOC, HIPAA, and/or HITRUST

• Experience in control design

• Practical experience in application security and endpoint security

• Excellent written communication abilities

• Capability to articulate complex technical and risk information to both engineers and executives

• Experience in managing and encouraging collaboration within a remote-first setup

• Ability to maintain high productivity and attentively handle multiple areas at once

• Competence in shifting focus as priorities change

• Philosophical alignment with the Stedi Standards
