Security Engineer – IT Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Operate and automate security tools including Microsoft Defender XDR, Entra ID, and Wazuh SIEM.

• Monitor and assess security events while investigating incidents.

• Suggest measures to prevent future occurrences and prepare incident reports.

• Address user-reported phishing incidents and maintain email protection measures.

• Plan and implement measures for network security.

• Establish security requirements for operating systems, networks, and services.

• Manage device security and compliance using MDM tools like Intune and Kandji.

• Oversee the remediation of endpoint vulnerabilities.

• Conduct regular access reviews and streamline groups and permissions.

• Execute the company-wide security awareness program, which includes training materials, phishing simulations, reports, and security communications.

• Maintain corporate security policies and procedures.

• Assist with internal and external audits, including collecting evidence in Vanta and addressing findings.

• Evaluate the security of third-party software, SaaS, and AI tools in collaboration with Legal.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in security operations or security engineering.

• Practical experience with the Microsoft security stack (Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online) and a SIEM.

• Strong understanding of networking as well as Windows, macOS, and Linux administration.

• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, and other security compliance frameworks.

• Scripting skills for automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).

• Ability to communicate security topics to non-technical audiences.

• Fluent in English.

• Experience with Vanta or a similar compliance automation platform (a plus).

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft SC-200 or CompTIA Security+ / CySA+ (highly beneficial).
