Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and maintain Chainguard’s cloud, IAM, and AI technology platforms.

• Develop and uphold access controls, identity policies, and authentication/authorization systems.

• Collaborate with senior cloud architects to enhance and monitor cloud infrastructure.

• Aid in securing AI/ML pipelines and agentic workflows.

• Troubleshoot, automate, and sustain systems leveraging IT administration or software engineering expertise.

• Document procedures and contribute to runbooks, playbooks, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Adapt to changing priorities and acquire new tools or systems as needed.

• Learn and implement security best practices under the mentorship of senior engineers, with opportunities for specialization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong IT administration skills and/or a background in software development.

• Practical experience in at least one of IAM, AI/ML infrastructure, or cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

• Familiarity with security concepts or relevant experience is advantageous.

• Proficiency in scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with clear communication and collaboration abilities.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to rapid changes in a dynamic, late-stage startup environment.

• Team-oriented mindset and a strong desire to learn.
