Security Engineer – AppSec, GRC, AI Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for security operations as the exclusive Security Engineer for the company.

• Conduct code reviews, identify and fix vulnerabilities, collaborate with developers using Git/GitHub, and coordinate external penetration tests and audits.

• Develop and uphold the security risk register, evaluate system exposure, assist in audit follow-ups, and prioritize remediation based on risk and business impact.

• Monitor alerts and threats, implement security awareness programs and phishing simulations, and provide occasional coverage during evenings and weekends.

• Oversee secure onboarding and offboarding processes, ensure device security through Mobile Device Management (MDM), manage access permissions, and maintain internal controls.

• Monitor generative AI security risks, including prompt injection, jailbreaks, filter bypasses, and vulnerabilities associated with third-party AI providers.

• Work directly with engineering leadership to ensure robust security practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3+ years of practical experience in security engineering, with consideration for exceptional scale-up experience.

• Strong background in application security, including experience with code reviews and vulnerability remediation.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting or coordinating security audits and penetration tests.

• Proficient in coding and comfortable working directly with Git/GitHub.

• Practical skills in scripting or automation, preferably in Python or Bash.

• Prior experience in an AI company or a rapidly growing organization with over 50 employees.

• Solid understanding of security governance, risk assessment, and prioritization.

• Ability to independently identify, investigate, and resolve security issues, taking full ownership in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Located in Europe, with around 80% overlap with Central European Time (CET) working hours.

• Willingness to monitor security during occasional evenings and weekends.

• Comfortable working with adult/NSFW content as a part of daily responsibilities.
