Security Consulting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver comprehensive life cycle security consulting services to Cisco clients

• Oversee, monitor, and report on security service engagements

• Collaborate with technical and managerial personnel from customer organizations

• Provide security solutions both independently and by leading multidisciplinary engineering teams

• Design, document, validate, pilot, deploy, and automate Cisco Security Solutions

• Offer ongoing support services for implemented solutions

• Share deep technical knowledge while conveying architectural context and comprehensive security solutions

• Assess and present alternative designs, influencing final outcomes

• Diagnose security and technical challenges, identify root causes, and assist in customer recovery

• Engage in global security practice collaboration and cross-functional teamwork within Cisco

• Contribute to the development and adherence to standards, templates, methodologies, best practices, and delivery frameworks

• Cultivate trusted-advisor relationships with customers, identifying future engagement prospects

• Aid in customer proposals and statements of work by offering scope and effort details

• Organize and conduct project workshops

• Facilitate training sessions that enable customers to appreciate the value of Cisco Security Solutions

• Build extensive subject-matter expertise across both cybersecurity and non-security domains

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT consulting, and systems integration with large enterprises

• Profound technical knowledge of Cisco Secure Firewall / ASA security technologies

• Experience in establishing and maintaining enterprise firewall deployments in both cloud and on-premises settings

• In-depth technical expertise in VPN technologies

• Experience in constructing and managing enterprise VPN deployments both on-premises and in the cloud

• Familiarity with Cisco AnyConnect and Secure Client products

• Technical experience with Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, and other SASE solutions

• Strong technical understanding of Cisco ISE and TrustSec; hands-on experience preferred

• Knowledge of Cloud Security, Network Visibility, and Zero Trust Segmentation solutions

• Capability to generate automation artifacts using common automation frameworks, programming languages, Generative AI systems, and Cisco APIs

• Experience in preparing, planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, automating, and managing network security solutions

• Solid grasp of secure design principles, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, adaptability, scalability, dependability, and modularity

• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP protocols

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical staff and executives

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent

• CCNP Security certification

• Preferred: expertise in Cisco Security technologies for both on-premises and cloud environments, including SNA, Secure Workload, Secure Endpoint, DUO, and Cisco XDR

• Preferred: experience with routing and switching, infrastructure applications, voice, content networking, wireless, Software Defined Access, and Software Defined WAN

• Desired certifications may include DevNet Associate, CCIE Security, CISSP, SANS GIAC, and NSA IAM
