Security Consulting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee, assess, and report on security services projects for significant Cisco clients.

• Engage with both technical staff and management personnel of customers.

• Independently provide security solutions while also leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Design, document, validate, pilot, deploy, and automate Cisco Security Solutions.

• Offer ongoing support services to ensure customers gain value from implemented solutions.

• Deliver in-depth technical expertise on Cisco security technologies and articulate architectural context.

• Assess and present alternative designs to impact results positively.

• Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and assist customers in resolving technical and security challenges.

• Collaborate globally within the security practice and across various Cisco teams.

• Aid in the development and adherence to standards, templates, methodologies, best practices, and delivery frameworks.

• Cultivate trusted advisor relationships with clients and discover future engagement possibilities.

• Support customer proposals and statements of work by supplying scope and effort insights.

• Organize and facilitate project workshops.

• Conduct training sessions to help customers recognize the value of Cisco Security Solutions.

• Build subject matter expertise in cybersecurity as well as non-security fields.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT consulting, and systems integration within large enterprise settings.

• Extensive technical background as a subject matter expert in Cisco Secure Firewall / ASA security technologies.

• Proven experience in constructing and managing enterprise firewall deployments in both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Comprehensive technical knowledge as a subject matter expert in VPN technologies.

• Experience in creating and maintaining enterprise VPN deployments in on-premises and cloud environments.

• Familiarity with Cisco AnyConnect and Secure Client products.

• Technical experience with Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, and additional SASE solutions.

• Strong technical knowledge of Cisco ISE and TrustSec; hands-on experience is preferable.

• Awareness of Cloud Security, Network Visibility, and Zero Trust Segmentation solutions.

• Capability to deliver automation artifacts utilizing standard automation frameworks, programming languages, Generative AI systems, and Cisco APIs.

• Experience in preparing, planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, automating, and managing network security solutions.

• Solid understanding of secure design principles.

• Detailed comprehension of TCP/IP protocols.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.

• CCNP Security certification.

• Preferred: expertise in Cisco SNA, Secure Workload, Secure Endpoint, DUO, and Cisco XDR.

• Preferred: experience with routing and switching, infrastructure applications, voice, content networking, wireless, Software Defined Access, and Software Defined WAN.

• Desired certifications include DevNet Associate, CCIE Security, CISSP, SANS GIAC, and NSA IAM.
